The Production Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing and receiving/distribution to meet production or support schedules through effective utilization of resources. Responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations through coordination, and value based leadership of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the Team Leaders in each manufacturing/ receiving-distribution department.
Maintain a focus on continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
Evaluate and communicate to Team Leaders the performance related to delivery, quality, and direct labor efficiency metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Responsible for meeting quality requirements and maintaining quality standards.
Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of employees; ensures their ability to safely operate equipment to produce product; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary.
Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees' safety, and housekeeping of the areas and meeting productions quality and quality standards on the shift.
Provides ongoing training and coaching in individual and group settings.
Maintains shift reports/records; collects metrics for weekly Team Leader review.
Monitors trends in functional areas, reporting this information to management and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
Leads with integrity, equitability addressing situations in accordance with plant policies, procedures, and corporate initiatives.
Participates in, and/or devotes resources to, the continuous improvements process, Lean Sigma, Kaizen events and other manufacturing initiatives to achieve business goals.
Establish a solid safety program for responsible areas and participate in Plant Safety Committee.
Interface closely with Manager of Customer Service, Technical Service, Quality, Manufacturing, EH&S to champion required projects.
Participate in scheduled plant quality review meetings and provide feedback through Team Leaders and Production Staff.
Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.
Analyze Team Leaders' performance metrics and coach.
Develop and train successor/backup for 'Shift Supervisor' position.
Responsible for exception management for time keeping, job costing, inventory and system issues, etc.
Approve all shift production Vacation, Paid Time Off, etc.
Qualifications:
2-Year Associated degree or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
Ability to lead, motivate, train, and instruct personnel.
Basic training in Lean Sigma principles.
Good interpersonal, organizational communication and mechanical skills required.
Ability to work varying shifts and additional hours depending on business needs.
Must be self-motivated and possess both cognitive and reasoning skills.
Skilled in problem solving and decision making skills
Proficient in reading, writing, and math skills.
Competent PC skills (Excel, Word, Power-Point, and Masonite systems knowledge)
Demonstrated productivity in a team environment, ability to lead multiple tasks, and to excel at Customer Satisfaction.
Experience with operating and training on material handling equipment.
Experience with layout of warehouse and racking/distribution systems.
Previous experience in managing an off-shift preferred

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
